After watching both Kirby and Parker's crew news visits in PHX and CLT, it is very apparent that they are KEEPING Mesa and there 900's around. Mesa is not going anywhere in terms of US Airways flying. In fact, this BK is good for them because "we (Parker and Airways) will re-negotiate the terms of the contract." In laymens terms, get that flying even CHEAPER!! So, for PSA and PDT, we will continue to fly the ole clt-pgv routes and Mesa will continue flying to DAL, IAH and then on to PHX where they are welcomed with open arms! I just do not get it! SO the pipe dream of bigger aircraft coming onto property, is after all, just that, a dream. Besides, our current MEC feels that 900's belong at Mainline. But, what do I know, after all, I am just another dumb regional pilot!
It was also interesting to hear Parker saying that among the big 5, Airways is the most vulnerable if the market were to tank again, and that consolidation is the only way for Airways to survive. With that said, we all know that PSA and PDT will not be part of that package!
