Sad irony - I made the first post on this subject about a year ago. I didn't submit my paperwork until September, so I guess it's partially my fault for taking so long to make up my mind. But I submitted all my info in September, only to have it sit on someone's desk for 3 months before they even looked at it, re-interpreted the rules, and told me that my initial medical wasn't enough and that I needed additional info (despite earlier calls/emails telling me that I was good to go). By the time everything was finished, the program ran out of money. What a nice kick in the nuts!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. That really blows. Are you sure you can't appeal that since your paperwork sat in someone's office? I know the Air Force Court of Appeals would surely side in your favor.
I know the following words will not make you feel any better. But it is because of incompetence like this that I left active duty. The reserves are even worse. I've come to the conclusion that except for the operational folks that make the day to day things happen in the Air Force, the rest is just a federal jobs program.
