I had a trainwreck experience trying to get a gate at LAX. They'd been using the gate as a storage space & it took forever to pull in. After we set the brakes, we waited fifteen minutes for a jetway driver, using all the available local tools to get some action.

Finally, the captain called the OCC duty pilot. The LAX supervisor was at the jetway controls in no time.
