Thanks for the good word nostep.

I try to give non biased, non flamebait, non bashing info the best I can.

If you have questions feel free to send them my way.

Here is a quick background so you have some info on what I know.

I am a roughly 2.5 year FO based in EWR since roughly 4 months before the dash 8 arrived. From this you can deduce that I was hired directly into the plane while knowing the rates were poor.

I am actively and as a matter of fact have been actively looking to leave here since about 6 months after I started because part 121 is not and has never been what I am looking for. Colgan has not helped the situation having taken in a little under 30K for the last few years but I would be actively looking regardless.

I am in the 20th or so percentile in seniority in base and have been a line holder since I started here.

I was hired a few months after we were bought so I have seen old Colgan and I have seen new Colgan.

With that info you now know what I can help you with, I know only second hand info regarding the saab, nothing about any base other than EWR and nothing about life on reserve other than what I see around me.

I have no idea who winglets is but I do think (s)he is onto something in saying that no one should apply here because if they can not find a single applicant than that will DRASTICALLY improve our chances at securing a contract. With this being said, I dont think there is a single person here who believes for even a fraction of a second that Colgan will not have 100 applications for every open seat.

To be honest, and we did it to ourselves: If Colgan said that it was now going to be PFT, they wanted 3000 TT with prior 121 and the pay was now $6/hr and you had to have blue eyes I still think they would fill their quota.

It is sad but I will say it again....it is what it is.
