I'm not talking about military people. Heck I was one. The level of compensation for officers is about right while enlisted troops are still vastly underpaid. They, however, go into the job knowing what's what and can't influence their pay one iota. The average run of the mill bureaucrat member of the Public Employees Union is another story. That discussion is fodder for another thread, though.
