After reading this thread I cannot believe the conditions Colgan has. Pay for your own hotel? 18,000 a yr? Are you kidding me? When instructing it kills me to loose pay to MTX'd aircraft and that was with making around $40,000 a yr. I can't imagine that on 18,000 a yr. Thanks but no thanks. If there was a good contract I could deal with it. With the non-existent contract there's not a chance in the world. The same goes for Lakes. There's not much movement these days. It won't kill me to wait it out.
It's good you made that choice. You'll be much happier waiting for a job that at the very least treats you well and doesn't pay so poorly. Ignore AirWillie below. Some of what he says is correct with their motivation on new pilots, but we all should admire your choice. By not going to Colgan you are making a difference and helping bring change one step closer.
AirWillie went to GoJets if that sheds any light on his character.

You seem like an independent type that values money and yourself, that's not what lower tier regional airlines in general want. They want a warm body. We all would like to admire you, because by waiting for what fits you, you will be happier in the long run.
You should take a page out of stis202's book and quit from GoJets.

You shouldn't even care. You shouldn't even be thinking of going there. Get a real job if your so worried about losing your number at your other airline. It sounds like you think you'll be recalled, which should also tell you not to go to Colgan.
Do the Colgan pilots a favor and don't go there so they have a better chance at getting a decent contract.
