I finished PIT in September. Took me 12 weeks to get through. The billeting on base is absolutely horrible. FWIW I was at PIT the same time as you (one class behind, it seems -- I was in C Flight with Sidler) and I lived in the BOQ with none of the problems you mention.
I was in Building 101, had nice cold A/C, and none of the creeping death mold and bugs you refer to.
So, YMMV.
