If you worked the hub for one year at fedex you were guaranteed an interview. I threw boxes with several guys that either had no college degree or no PIC. I don't know what else would make a man come to that hell hole and throw boxes in 100 degree heat, sub-freezing temps, or load a container onto a plane in freezing weather for peanuts. So do your home work and go back a ways. Go WAY back to 1995.
As far as modern day hiring at fed ex I could really give a crap. I've loaded enough planes in freezing rain to know I couldn't work for them ... job security or not. I personally don't give a flying flip what they do. Allow me to retort. I don't know what they do modern day, but back in the day you did NOT have to have a college degree OR PIC.
Peace.
Well I'll go back to '87 and state that back then one needed a degreeand PIC time even if one was an internal hire. Being with the company didn't mean one could bypass the requirements. When I first got here one of the "dirty 30" was the only one I knew who didn't have a degree and was proud of it.
