I think the premise of the original post is that they will not make for good investments for very much longer- I cannot argue with that at all. They have already cut costs/pay so much that very soon (as posted earlier) some of them will not be able to make a profit even if they had no labor costs.
Well said. They might squeeze a little bit more out of the employees, but I think that solution has more or less reached its limits. In a world where price is your only virture, there will always be someone willing to sell themselves for a little bit less.

It will be interesting to see how the consumer reacts to escalating ticket prices.
