Patience is necessary and I agree. The only problem is that this is not the FIRST offer. Remember Contract 9000? This is pretty much the same. The company has apparently now backed away from some of the sections and proposed other crap (as you can see on one of the attachments). The payscale is horrendous. Doesn't even account for inflation in the past 7 years. So, even though I always advocate patience, there are only 2 more bargaining sessions (a fact I didn't know). If we don't step up the pressure now...I'm not sure how this will end up.
Past practices of p!ssed off pilot groups:
Disclaimer: this is for INFO ONLY...
-Taxing slow.
-Flying slow.
-Flying fast.
-Not accepting direct routing.
-Two engine taxi.
-F/O making a VERY DETAILED pre-flight. ("Capt, I'm not comfortable with that crack on the tire rubber. Please call maintenance.")
-Captain calling maintenance for minor stuff (like that crack on the tire rubber).
-Not calling for fuel when they are late... not pilot's job or fault.
-Calling in fatigued when kinda fatigued....duuhh.
-Calling in sick when feeling kinda sick....duhhh
-Not doing any favors (reserves being asked to please be there in an hour and a half, if possible. Sorry...NOPE.)
-Everybody showing up not wearing their hats (well...or not wearing a tie).
Disclaimer: I'm (or ALPA) is not advocating this.... INFO ONLY! Just historical facts of the past...
