Menke was not going to let Southwest have Frontier unless he had no choice, but he did have a choice, so here we are. So placing blame on the Frontier pilots is null at this point. When Republic levied a $150mil claim for the cancellation of contract and then loaned Frontier $40mil, the deal was done.
No one is placing blame on the Frontier pilots, but rather questioning the logic behind their decision. I disagree with you. I think they could have influenced the outcome in favor of Southwest. It was a noble choice if done with other groups and brand preservation in mind, but I think everyone saw the writing on the wall. Mr. Bedford is doing everything he can to tear apart the infrastructure at the acquired carriers, and we all knew or had a feeling that this was the direction he was going take.
