Lynx CEO told me we were profitable when we had 10 airplanes and fuel was 90. Course yield has dropped but loads got better since... who knows. Lynx mechanics have always done our MX and we outsourced our C-checks. The F9 MX didn't/wouldn't affect us. Bedford is worried about the price of fuel... but replaces us with E170's budgeted for 45% more fuel burn over the same routes? He bought a successful airline for cheap... and we were the free kittens thrown in with the deal.
They did try to pimp us out... just hard to find anyone looking for more capacity right now.
The plane IS fun to fly. I will miss all the power and responsiveness of those engines... without a doubt.
Just hypotheticals here, but you'd think with that planes capability, it's efficiency when used properly, etc, that even if BB didn't want them on property that the certificate would be worth a pretty penny. Of course, that could go ANY direction on how good that would be for the employees.
