When they realized the RAH offer was clean and ready to close within weeks, they realized they had no shot of acquiring F9 due to their very seedy offer. When they realized they were unprepared for such an acquistion, they had to save face. Kelly told SWAPA to to halt SLI talks, offer something FAPA would reject (Staple) and they could back out and save face by looking like heroes by protecting their employees interest rather than being laughed out of court by Judge Drain for such a ridiculous offer when another better offer was on the table. As usual, everybody on these forums thinks the pilots could have decided the fate of these two companies, when the reality is, they had 1% of the vote...if they were lucky.
