Speaking for myself (one of the "over-qualified" guys), I never had, nor will have, the intention to bolt from a regional for the sole reason to fly big iron. If I make a liveable wage with good schedules I'm happy.

But I have left regionals that have settled for what I thought were bad contracts, or that have broke promises.

Maybe I'm not typical, but that's how I am.

Plus, like the guy above me said, just where would you expect these "over-qualified" guys to go? No major airlines are hiring. Probably will be almost none for 3 years or more. When they do, the odds will be long. I certainly think the regionals can get their mileage out of of the "over-qualified" so long as they don't abuse them too bad.
