Just wanted to drop in to the forums to say thank you for providing a website that lets me see what airlines are paying their pilots. My wife and I are flying to Ireland and back at the end of the year, and I'll be making sure we fly with the airline that pays their pilots the best.
I'll then be sending a copy of our tickets to the largest airlines with a note saying that my family will never again fly with poorly paid pilots, and that the CEOs have just priced their tickets out of my comfort zone by cheating their pilots.
Growing up it was understood that being a comercial pilot was an elitist job, and while we hated the fact that someone should be able to earn SO much money, we never complained because of the responsibility given to those pilots. To know now (thanks to Michael Moore) that airline pilots earn less in their first years of employment than I did at 16 years of age makes me sick... And I'll be protesting with my wallet.
If anyone can give me any advice as to where this kind of small fry protest would hit hardest (complainst dept? Marketing? ceo's homes?) I'm all ears
