I know this an old thread but I was just looking through the pictures... I ride a Yamaha YZF600R and have done some relatively short day trips,, all less than 300 miles. As I sit here un-employed, I was thinking of doing a trip to the west coast in a few weeks. I am in the TN area,,, thinking about riding due South to stay in the warmer air then West to Kingman AZ. I still have Delta privelages so I could get off at anytime in the event that something comes up at home. Also, in addition to staying at state and national parks, I might sneak into a few FBO's with crew rooms and showers in case it gets really cold. Anybody else taken the furlough opportunity to do a trip?
