I'm gonna cut this one off at the pass here with some facts:

There are some 850 NWA 757 guys that have to get checked out in the 767. Part of the 767 training transition from the 757 for your type rating is getting 1 landing in the actual 767 with a line check airman.

So the FAA gave us an option- each NWA guy's first landing in the 767 have an LCA fly with them and buy the other guy off a trip, or get them 10 pilots at a time doing bounces around michigan and minnesota.

The latter actually turned out to be a cheap and simpler option when it was looked at.

They gas the plane up with around 110,000 pounds of fuel to put it in a normal operating weight range, and blast off. Radar patterns each guy gets 1 bounce, visual patterns each guy gets 2. Luck of the draw on the weather....only 1 is required.

The LCA that is teaching guards the reversers and the speedbrake to keep them from pulling either.... land at flaps 25 or 30 (typically 25), lower the nose to the ground, flaps 20, and go. When it's time to change pilots, autopilot on and they swap.

Hope this helps!
