I have the HTC Hero (sprint) there is a free app in the store called Pdanet, you download it to your phone. When you open it up it will give you directions on how to download to your labtop and how to use. Works pretty well, in fact if you have a labtop that is Bluetooth capable you can use that connection instead of a cable.
