I have been wondering this....Piedmont seems like the kind of airline that would do this, but would an airline recall a bunch of pilots just to furlough again in say 3 months? I could see Piedmont bringing back say 30 pilots total for the summer....then November/December furloughing them again. Or do you think that those they bring back, would be working until next year when the airplanes run up on their cycles? I know this has an answer that has a bunch of variables but, generally, would an airline spend the money to retrain just to furlough again soon after?
