"We are the union" is more than a catch phrase. If "the union's aren't doing much for pilots anymore" then it's because, as members, we're getting lazy and letting a few dictate how they want to do things. Don't like how ALPA is doing things? Talk to your reps, hold them accountable. Don't let them flim-flam you with double talk. Make sure they are doing the job your fellow pilots elected them to do and then hold them accountable for their actions. If they aren't doing the job, then stage a regime change.
Despite all the hoopla and cheap talk on this thread about a mass walk out, if we, as union pilots, can't control our own union, how can we realistically expect to coordinate a mass walk out?
Good point, you all need to keep pressure on our local reps or send them packing. If they aren't doing the job then they should get the ax. HOLD ON TO SCOPE! don't let management hang $2-$6 hours more to give up scope. this will hurt you in the long run when they outsource more and your on the bottom facing being laid off.
