At the OP: It's definitely interesting times we live in. I hear excellent arguments from every corner. Hopefully it all works out in the end and the warfighter on the ground gets whats he needs.
MEMA is right to an extent don't you think. The *incentive* (flight pay) is because we fly and in some ways can certainly be thought of as extra pay for the dangers of the job - just like sub pay, jump pay, dive pay, EOD pay, etc...
