Delta obviously chose to negotiate a higher rate for the 90 when it came on the property. No mystery - just different negotiating tactics by the respective groups.

Since the rates have now been established, you will unlikely see anything other than straight percentage raises in the future since most people would be unwilling to expend any negotiating capital to bring one aircraft group up over another.

Historically that has not been correct. The 88 was brought on the property with a low rate initially. It has received higher raises in at least two contracts to bring it more in line with other narrowbodies. The 737-700 just received a increase to bring it up to 800 rates which was a large increase. The trend is for common categories to have a common payrate.
