A board member is sitting in on these talks. Our lawyer (Art L.) is of the opinion that the company will continue to stall and that we MAY be granted a release to a cooling-off period that the end of those talks (around April 8th, putting a potential strike date around May 8th at the earliest).
He doesn't guarantee a release. He just said, based on his past experience, that it appears we will be headed towards a release if those talks are unproductive.
As for recalls, I don't think the company will go down that road until this strike/contract situation is settled. If work rules change, there could be a "major" base restructuring that could change staffing levels. It would be foolish of the company to bring back folks, train them, spend money, then furlough later.
