I certainly understand both sides on this issue. But when a pilot is there for 2 nights for CQ, do you really need something super nice? Piedmont stayed in the Econo lodge in Elmira for goodness sake. That place is worse off then homestead. You can't even sit on the toilet and close the door at the same time!

I totally agree with Jay regarding the kitchens. I did SOE out of MDT while staying at the Best Western with no kitchen. I was there for 3 weeks and I cannot tell you how hard it is to alternate between the Wendy's and Taco Bell in the same parking lot and Subway down the road. I really hope for future new hires sake that the new hotel has a fridge and microwave. It got to the point I was cooking ramen in the coffee maker.

I also agree with Jay's comment regarding the tone of the poster. I am not saying that the poster was 100% wrong in being frustrated as I too have heard the homestead noises. What I am saying is you did just come off of furlough. You and the other recalls represent the rest of us still on furlough. By doing what you did, you could or have casted a negative attitude from the training department toward those on furlough. Almost as if they will expect us to come back with a grudge. Again, I am not saying what you did was wrong, I do feel you could have handled it a little better then you did but what is done is done. IMO I think an apology to Jay would not be out of line.
