One of my two favorite movies. I hear that Yeager is a jerk in real life... too bad. The movie persona was a guy I'd like to have a beer with.
Back in the 90s Yeager was a spokesman for NWA (check out youtube NWA commercials). He was being given a tour of our training department 3rd floor-think DAL 4th floor.
The CA giving the tour proudly proclaimed that all the folks on this floor were pilots. Yeager loooked around the floor and said; " I've never seen so many pilots afraid to fly" Gotta love that
