I want to do my time and get out just like prison.
One other thing. I can't know dashtrash's mindset so this is nothing against them. I just wanted to use this quote as an example only. There are two specific groups of pilots at PDT that are damaging to our pilot group, and to this industry as a whole. The first are the old timers who don't care about anything, so long as they get their paycheck. They just want to come to work, get paid, and retire as soon as possible. Their mindset is, "why should I fight for this contract? I'll be gone in a few years anyways, so it won't benefit me." The second group are those who just want to do their time and get out. They also seem to not care about negotiations, because they won't be around anyways.
Everyone should fight for this contract, whether they plan on staying ten more weeks or ten more years. We don't just fight for ourselves, but for those who come behind us. Military aviators on here will know what I mean. We should have that same wingman mentality. I myself don't plan on being here at PDT much longer, but I still am trying to do everything I can to help our union fight for a better contract. Everyone needs to have their eyes on the larger goal here. When we fight for and win a better contract here at PDT, it will give other regionals a goal to fight for as well, and ultimately benefits the entire regional industry. And again, maybe we won't be around to reap the benefits of this fight, but we will win it for those who come behind us...
