Also, I would recommend getting some business cards and passing them out to airport tenants for "Freelance" BFR's, IPC's, etc. There is A LOT MORE money in the Freelance world of instruction. (Please remember, don’t sell yourself short. i.e. If the flight school you work for charges $50/hour for Advanced Instruction, charge the same. REMEMBER, you get to pocket the entire lump sum!)

Remember you need to account for the fact you will need to take your own taxes out on this, unless you go strictly "under the table" of which I have no information on doing
Otherwise, I don't know the cost of living down there, but that's a pretty nice paycheck for a CFI. I think I rolled in about $17k/yr my first full year(May-May), but I had paychecks anywhere from $1200 for 2 weeks, down to several that were $300 for 2 weeks(winters in the Midwest)
