He would work tirelessly as the Contract Admin while flying almost full schedules (note: I do understand and support flight pay loss as long as it is not being abused).
What I find ironic about the Council 54 letter is the fact that some of these same individuals had a huge problem with the Security Chairman at NWA (I believe the feeling they had was that he was a "rogue" as he didn't just follow along with the senior agenda). I will say that this security chairman absolutely looks out for the junior pilots.
Nuff said and I am not going to debate the issue further. It is time that we move on and march together.
We as line pilots can only do that move on and hopefully march together. The union will always deal in politics and that is where the problems arise. Look at Washington now. I have seen so many guys get elected to positions touting how they are there for the pilots only to turn out to be there for themselves and the union line after the coolaide drinking fest they go to in Herndon. That is the real trick, trying to find the guy that is there for the regular line guy and not there for himself, and not there for the idea of union issues put before pilot issues. So many guys turn their position into a good deal for themsleves, I have seen it and witnessed it first hand. I have even told newly elected reps what could and would happen to them and have called them out on it when they became selfservers. The nature of the business I guess.
