I don't blame any flight instructors or anybody else taking this job because it's a BETTER OPPORTUNITY and you're just trying to get you're foot in the door.(I remember I would have done anything to get out of flight instructing.) However, any furloughed people that have the experience, why waiste you're time? Wait it out. I found a non flying job making just as much as I did as a 3rd year jet FO. No reason to sell yourself for 18,000 per year, commuting on reserve, when it isn't going to help your career. Sorry to offend, but I felt like I was underpaid making over 30,000 my last two years. Not worth it to be away from home half the time, doing 5 legs per day.
