WASHINGTON
NetJets has cancelled 65 Dassault Falcon jet orders the giant fractional owner placed for delivery beyond 2014, the French aircraft maker says.
The cancellation comes after NetJets booked a $711 million loss last year and cancelled a slew of other orders as well. “These aircraft will be reordered and delivered depending on the market evolution,” Dassault says.
A total cancellation volume of 98 Falcons. drove Dassault to record to a €1.32 billion loss in its order book during 2009.
For Dassault, the development comes as the aircraft maker reached record Falcon deliveries last year, with 77 units and closed the year with an operating income of €315 million. The company also delivered 14 Rafale fighters to the French military.
