I interviewed many years ago with a certain carrier headquartered in the southwest that is now embroiled in a terrible merger with an east-coast based carrier and they had a PR person staged in the cafeteria section where pilots were told to wait while waiting for their interviews.
I was quite obvious to me, but not so to several of the other candidates there blabbering about this and that and with their professional guard down, so this practice is not unheard of, although I have not heard of it employed at Eagle.
In my experieice, I was amused to watch the nice young woman sitting in front of a barely touched tray of food away from everyone else, but within earshot of the waiting pilots reading a book................during my 20 minutes there waiting, she never flipped a page. To me anyway, it was totally obvious.
