I think I already know the answer, but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyway on the slight chance it might actually ring true and get through to you:
Why don't you just keep paying your dues at whatever job you have now, bide your time honing your skills and knowledge, then study hard and prepare so you'll get hired at a regional when the economy turns around and have them pay you to get this training done?
Let me be perfectly clear: What you are proposing cheapens the profession and hurts us all.
