When an airline puts out an RFP its to price the market for a chunk of flying. So a RFP on mesa's 900 flying means that airways is requesting bids on that flying. It does not mean that Airways intends to get rid of Mesa.
Is Mesa's contract is up soon? While it doesn't necessarily mean they intend to cut ties with Mesa, companies - in any industry - typically don't put out RFPs unless there is work they need done, or will need done in some specific timeframe. Although, if Mesa is the cheapest, and still around, Airways will likely continue to use them.
Plus, how would that help PDT anyway? It's not like we'd do CLT-SAT anytime soon.
