AA will try anything to circumvent our SCOPE clause. This appears to be a new way.. Watch out CAL pilots. I am sure Smisek is taking notes.

Its gotta be a wakeup call for APA. AMR doesnt care how the pax get there, but as long as they connect to AA international flights (and oneworld partner intl flights).Through this agreement (and possibly an eventual codeshare with JB) AMR isnt gaining any sizeable revenue specifically from the feed flights, but they gain the international pax. The domestic market is being taken over by LCCs since they have a lower cost structure than the legacy carriers. LCCs do the same thing as regional carriers (fly domestically at a lower cost than legacy carriers) but they do it while surviving on their own. They dont need a Fee-For-Departure contract to fly in/out of JFK, they just do it. Here is the gap-filler for AMR between the CRJ700 and 737. Why bother negotiating Jetblue's E190 rates for APA when you can have Jetblue do it?
