Warning Yellow Slip!
Ok, I'm an idiot, but wanted to remind everyone about this so no one else pulls the same bone-headed maneuver that I did today.
Lowering your RAW by 15 pts is a YELLOW SLIP REQUEST!
+12 hours to report you are contractually required to fly the rotation.
I got short call for tomorrow with a commutable start (first day on) and then, wanting to fly rather than sit short call, I lowered my RAW. I'm all set to commute in the morning, and the last flight tonight has already left. Ring . . . "Crew Scheduling, we have a trip tomorrow with a 6am-ish report, I'll mark you notified" . . . Me (sounding very stupid) "I didn't realize that by lowering my RAW it was considered a Yellow Slip"
Somewhere along the way I knew this, but just didn't put 2 and 2 together. I'm not complaining here as this was completely my screw-up, but just don't want anyone else to unwittingly make the same mistake.
