I don't know much about the reporter business - but I would expect the actual reporter to be held accountable for the story. If the reporter were FORCED to write something untrue then I would expect the reporter to either refuse to put their name to it (a little integrity here), or if the story was edited with all of those inaccuracies after turning it in, then I would expect the reporter to say as much. I doubt that he would be/should be fired, but some type of punishment for a reporter for turns in such a piece of fantasy should share in a different blame game. Tim's problems were solely of his own making and are a separate problem in my opinion.
