If you read the note, the comment was do away with 535 Herndon Parkway. ALPA National offices are downtown, although there is a duplication of office space in Herndon with the national "officers". That destinction is of little consequence.
I'll be the first to say that ALPA Safety, Security, CIRP and other programs benefit the membership. No doubt about that and are worth
your dues money. In my view, the organization needs a major internal overhaul, modernization and re-structuring. Leave the programs in place that bring value to the membership and either eliminate or re-organize the rest of the organization to meet the needs of today's labor environment.

Actually, the downtown building was sold years ago and everything was moved to Herndon, with two stipulations. ALPA kept the 8th Floor in perpetuity, and Bill; the doorman who has been there forever, could not be fired. He's a good man.
To pay the bills, half of the 8th floor was sold off about 18 months ago.
Sad.
