Pepper spray is a dandy seasoning, but real Alaskan Wildlife agents carry a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with slugs if they are anticipating a close encounter that may require self defense.
Pepper spray can be difficult to manage in windy conditions or do as I say and not as I do.

I don't blame the wolves, the woman was aware of some of the possibilities in the wild, and who among us ever sees all of the possibilities. The story and comments are interesting for many reasons. We construct a framework of a "moral" basis, but such things don't exist at all outside of the human experience. Sometimes they don't exist inside the human experience.
