There's always more than one point of view. Unless you've experienced it first hand though, one really can't say too much with much validity.
I have never had my hand mangled by a piece of heavy machinery, but I think most of us would have something valid to say about the prospect and the event. I don't desire to experience it first hand, but I am grateful for the cautionary tales of those who have done so.
