The reason I ask is, I haven't see "politics of personal destruction" used in print in at least a decade.

I may be off base and I'm definitely not political but as far as this site goes there are a couple guys on here who throw grenades then are offended when someone attacks their post. The post that attacks the original post then get a rash of "how could you?" posts and the cycle begins. The premise of their arguement may or may not have merit but the poster's style (one in particular, another who doesn't seem to post anymore) seems to get everyone's dander up. Maybe that's the design, I don't know, but it's usually anything but constructive and usually generates 5 pages of a ****ing match.
Luckily most of us don't have an agenda other than max pay and QOL and will hopefully come together and marginalize those with other agendas. If not we'll end up stratefied (senior, junior, widebody, narrowbody, nobody, purple book, orange book, the good book) with special interest groups running the show and a miserable place to work.
