I know ONE former squadronmate of mine who was hired at ASA in the 2002-2003 timeframe from the Hornet community. I believe he was in a pool, or his actual training class was canceled, but I don't think he ever actually flew with them. Last I heard he was with FedEx or SWA now. I don't know many of my peers that have flown with a Regional Airline though.
