Actually, AA is in the process of selling 17 of their 757's to
Delta, so I doubt Delta would be turning around and selling some to FedEx. This has to do I think with the old TWA 757's with Pratt engines that didn't fit with AA's Rolls Royce powered fleet.
United as a source of FedEx's 757's makes some sense, since they already have Airbusses and could acquire more. But I really think there might be something to AA selling more 757's with an eye toward modernizing their fleet in the coming years...
