Fair enough. It just seems like a bit of overkill.
I can see the fuel levers being dual response I suppose, but half the time when we're running that checklist the other items aren't really in their "final shutdown" configuration because the APU and a fuel pump and the packs are still running, the external power isn't there yet or whatever.
"Set for now" is my standard response, which seems to encourage left seat complacency about the whole checklist.
I agree... I think the best compromise would be for the fuel control switches/levers/pulleys/hamster wheels should be duel verified.... but that's it.
Nothing more dangerous than leaving the beacon on....
