I've always wondered why Boeing went with a winglet for the 763ER as opposed to the raked tip which was already on the 764ER? They are essentially the same wing, no?
I'm pretty sure it's the same wing with about a 7 ft raked extension on each side. The only drawback to the raked design I believe is the increase in wingspan for ground operations.
