Dogg! I'm not trying to crush your dreams! Personally I wouldn't change a decision that I have made in my aviation career for anything. As I see so many of my fellow pilots being put on the chopping block, their lives and lives of their family. Do they wish that they had chosen a different line of work? I know many would say yes! People that are successful are successful in anything that they do. Had they chosen a different line of work they would have been successful in that also.

Do yourself a favor and seek out other professional career forums. Engineering, Medical, Business, Computer Science, any of them. Pose the same question to them that you are interested in getting a career in their field. Let me know the first one that tells you that you should go be a pilot so you will have something to fall back on.

I'm at least glad that "getting a degree in something else sounds cool" It may also provide you the ability to feed yourself in the future.
