As for the mergers:
We will buy AS if it is deemed necessary to keep the Asian feed. I bet we buy HI if they get a HND slot, and we will buy the route authorities or the entire airline of Spirit to compete with American in LA. (That is if the LA governments do not grant more slots to us, which we are asking for)
HA is getting their first A330 middle of next month, volcano permitting.
DL has the Tech Ops contract for HA 767 and A330/A350.
From an airframe point of view, HI would be pretty easy to consolidate since their fleet will consist of 717, 767 and A330/350. Their pilots are going to the Airbus campus in Miami and they are already running test tabletop scenarios with the FAA and DAL Maintenance.
