TYG, Alaska is not that "low paying" of a Major airline unless you are comparing them to SWA. Only Delta and American compare to AK depending on YOS. United, Continental, and USAir aren't even in the ball park.

They also have much higher guarantees, 75 hrs for line holder and LC RES and 79 hrs for SC.

Not saying that I like code sharing with AK but at least they aren't undercutting us to get our business. Long term DALPA needs to negotiate a sunset clause in the PWA were (a) Delta succeeds on the west cost and we take over feeding our own flying, (b) we buy Alaska, or (c) the code share is terminated and Delta finds somewhere else to be more successful. IMO 5 years from the next contracts DOS should do it.
