Just to be fair and avoid politicizing the thread, there are no serious people, either Democrat or Republican that did not think this was the right thing to do, including our current President. There is some debate about whether the tactics were exactly correct but not whether or not we needed massive intervention. From time to time you will hear demagoguery but that is not serious talk, that is pandering.
