Well, certainly the most pervasive rumors have come true, although the Vietnam flying isn't official yet (but pretty close). I, too, have heard from a source supposedly coming from the training department that SkyWest, Inc. will purchase either Comair (can't see this being a good idea in any way, shape or form) or Compass and merging them with ASA. Either could be true but acquiring Comair with their costs and 50-seaters just doesn't make any business sense that I can see, and while Compass would bring more non-50-seaters on property, they are Embraer products, so although possible, it doesn't quite fit. The Compass rumor explains itself by stating that the Delta pilots are so incensed with Compass' flow through arrangement that they are insisting that Delta somehow change it, which they would do by selling Compass.
There are always rumors around. Some do have actual validity, like when it was being noised that we were talking to AirTran. Well, ASA didn't get any flying out of it, but SkyWest did, so there was something to it. Maybe there's something to this, as well, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it just yet.
