The Compass rumor explains itself by stating that the Delta pilots are so incensed with Compass' flow through arrangement that they are insisting that Delta somehow change it, which they would do by selling Compass.
The only two problems with this statement is that the Delta pilots are not insensed by the flow through agreement, and if Compass is ever sold, the flow through remains intact.
